JFK Return to Campus 21-22

GENERAL DIRECTOR MESSAGES

We keep working to have our campus ready for the planned reopening. Besides all the physical modifications we have made, we have a number of protocols that all staff, students or visitors to campus will be required to follow in order to assure the health and safety of everyone in our community. We'll maintain you informed about these guidelines and requierements.

We will be adding new content to this section to build a collection of useful information throughout the semester.

JFK General Safety Protocols

Important Message from our General Director, Adrian Leece

iPASS INFORMATION

JFK and other leading ASOMEX schools have partnered with CrisisGo, a leader in school safety communications. The Safety iPass health-screening App provides an extra safety filter before entering our campus. All students and staff will be required to pre-check with this app before entering the campus every day. Without this pre-check it will not be possible to enter campus, this is for the health and safety of all our community.

  • We realize that we live in a world that can be difficult to navigate, and is particularly difficult for children to understand. With our collective vigilance and open communication, we can ease some of the tensions and help our children feel safer and more comfortable in our community. The next list of FAQ´s is not exhaustive and may evolve, but we hope to answer some of the more pressing concerns and questions that we are receiving. iPass FAQs

HEALTH PROTOCOLS

The Secretary of Education (SEP) has informed us of certain guidelines that we must follow. There are many rules and guidelines that are specifically for the school and which we have been implementing, however, there are some very important ones that require the active participation of parents and students.

  • Returning to Campus after Semana Santa. All students will return to campus on Monday, April 25th. We will NOT be requiring a negative COVID test in order to enter campus after the break. Getting a test will be optional for students but is recommended if you have been travelling to an area with a high incidence of the virus or have participated in high risk activities including large get togethers or travelling on public transport  read here.
  • Testing for JFK Community. In order to help facilitate those families with testing of their students, one of our partner testing laboratories will be placing a module at the school this weekend. For further information read here.
  • January 13th, 2022. Return to Campus. Please note that the Board and School Leadership team, in alignment with our Covid Crisis Team and medical consultants, have agreed a return to campus plan as follows. For further information read here.
  • Vaccination Survey. As we did last semester, we would like to get an idea of where our community is right now regarding vaccinations for COVID-19. For further information read here.
  • Return to campus in January 2022. As so many will travel and increase social contact over Christmas we need to be extra careful not to permit COVID to enter campus when we return. For more details read here.
  • The VRL has not proved a very satisfactory solution for our students. We feel concerned that many are now missing out on the quality of education, and the comfort and stability found by coming to school every day. To know more about the VRL changes for the next semester read here.
  • We have been contacting various COVID testing laboratories in order to secure preferential pricing for our community.  The following table shows which laboratories have offered us discounts over their normal prices and can be used by any member of our community by asking for the JFK pricing.
  • As a result of the celebrations surrounding September 15, it has been agreed to have a second school-wide test to help track any potential outbreaks over the days following the festivities. To know the defined protocols click here
  • There are two important questions that many of you have asked the school and we want to clarify the protocols:  What are the protocols if my child travels during the school year? What happens if there is a positive confirmed test result of a student, or the teacher, who has been present in the classroom? To know the defined protocols click here
  • For those families who have chosen to have your child attend classes on campus, here are the requirements for them to access for the first-time Read more

CAMPUS ACCESS
